Two Taree-based horse trainers have been handed lengthy bans, after being found guilty of serious animal cruelty charges.
Trainer Cliff Bashford has been disqualified for 3 years and Jim Delaney 5 years, after stewards found they had committed an act of cruelty surrounding the treatment of an unraced two-year-old filly in June this year.
Bashford was found to have failed to provide proper veterinary treatment while Delaney was charged with failing to alleviate pain inflicted upon the horse.
