30 MEGA-LITRES OF WATER PUMPED TO LINDFIELD PARK
More than 30 megalitres of reclaimed water is being pumped into Lindfield Park on the mid-north coast, after a devastating bushfire tore through the area last month.
Hundreds of hectares of scorched earth will be rehydrated over the next 50 days.
“The plan is to rehydrate the wetland back to its natural state, which will obviously extinguish the fire, it’s going to take some 50 to 60 days before we see the wetland back to its natural state.” – Superintendent Cam Baker, Mid Coast Rural Fire Service.
Residents can also expect air quality to improve over the coming weeks.
