ARRESTS MADE DURING ANTI CSG PROTEST IN THE PILLIGA

Charges could be laid after a police car was mobbed by angry protesters in the Pilliga Forrest, south of Narrabri today.

More than 300 people took part in the demonstration, which was organised by The Wilderness Society.

They’re fighting to stop coal seam gas exploration by Santos.

Police say some behaviour was appalling.

Two men were arrested and more people could face charges after they surrounded and stopped a police car when it attempted to leave the forest.

Charges are also expected after two women climbed on top of and stopped a coal train near Willow Tree today.

Frontline Action organised the blockade in response to mining in the Leard State Forrest.
