Horse racing’s governing body has put the Newcastle Jockey Club on notice – but will allow one of the region’s biggest events, the Boxing Day races, to go ahead.
Stewards say more work is needed on Broadmeadow’s troubled track, and the club is determined to avoid another racing blackout.
