Armidale Regional Airport has officially taken off, with extra QANTAS flights welcomed by the city’s council.

A new return service to Sydney will commence on August 16.

The flight will leave Sydney at 11am each Friday, with a return flight from Armidale at 12.40pm.

The addition will be a further boost for the airport, which has received upgrades of up to $10.5 million dollars since 2017.
