COL SPEED MOVING ON FROM COFFS COMETS

After three years at the helm of the Coffs Harbour Comets, Colin Speed has announced he won’t be coaching the group 2 first grade team next season.

Speed was interested in taking on the job again, but now believes it’s probably in the best interests of the club for him to leave.

The experienced coach took the first grade side to three consecutive grand finals after a 27 year premiership drought.

The Comets won the first against Nambucca Heads in 2013 but lost to Grafton and South Grafton after that.

Speed hasn’t ruled out coaching for another club next year.
