FRESH APPEAL AS POLICE INVESTIGATE 1991 DEATH OF PENNY HILL

28 years on from the death of Penny Hill, police have confirmed a $1-million reward will be offered for information which helps solve the mystery surrounding the young woman’s death.

Originally from Narrabri in the state’s north west, the 20-year-old was found unconscious with severe head injuries on Cassilis Road near Coolah in July 1991.

She died nearly two weeks later in Newcastle’s John Hunter Hospital.

“Today is 28 years since Penny was taken from us in these horrific circumstances. Not a day goes by we don’t think about Penny and the life that was tragically taken from her far too soon,” said Ms Hill’s emotional mother, Jeanette.

Two inquests have been held into Ms Hill’s murder, including in 1992 and 2012, however no one has ever been charged.

“We believe that someone in the community has information that can help police solve this horrible crime and bring those responsible for Penny’s murder to justice,” said Jeanette.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
