A 43-year-old woman is in a critical condition in hospital, after crashing into a parked van and power pole at Elermore Vale this morning.
Authorities had to cut her free from the SUV.
The exact cause of the crash is still unknown, but police say the woman may have suffered a medical episode.
Southbound traffic was delayed along Lake Road for several hours.
