PORT STEPHENS DOLPHIN POPULATION STABLE

There’s good news from the annual Port Stephens dolphin census, with the weekend event confirming a stable population resides in the marine park.
85 volunteers manned 49 sites on land and water around the bay yesterday, stretching north to Pindimar and Tea Gardens.
A total of 95 sightings were recorded in a two-hour window.
Port Stephens’ dolphin population is estimated to be worth $25-million to the area’s tourism economy.
