BUSINESS CHAMBER CHASING ELECTION PROMISES

The Hunter Business Chamber has called on the state government to use the budget, to make good on its election promises here.

Several major projects were spruiked in the lead-up to the March poll, including an overhaul of John Hunter Hospital, the Muswellbrook bypass, and almost $400-million for Port Stephens roads.

“In terms of regional business we are looking forward to hopefully the announcement of the special activation precinct around the Newcastle Airport which can have significant benefits in terms of jobs for the region”, said Chamber President, Hennie du Plooy.

The chamber is also lobbying for payroll tax concessions for small to medium businesses.
