SEVERE WEATHER WARNING AS SNOW FALLS ACROSS NORTHERN NSW RANGES

A severe weather warning remains in place for large parts of the New South Wales coastline, with an intense low in the Tasman causing strong winds and large swell.

The worst of the weather is set to hit Newcastle at around 10 o’clock on Tuesday morning, before making its way north.

Newcastle, Gosford, Port Macquarie and Taree are likely to see wind gusts in excess of 90km/h as well as isolated thunderstorms.

The system is also generating a large swell, with exposed beaches set to see waves more than 5 metres high.

Further south at Ulludulla, a peak wind gust of 130km/h has been recorded.

Meanwhile, snow has fallen across the Northern NSW ranges, including at Walcha and Guyra.

There’s also been a light dusting at the Barrington Tops.
