Racing New South Wales has issued 10 charges against suspended Newcastle trainer Ben Smith, in relation to the alleged use and supply of prohibited substances.
Officials claim two of his runners… Iron Duke and Elaborate… both returned levels of cobalt above what’s accepted, when they were tested last August.
Raids on his Newcastle stables, home and car allegedly uncovered unlabelled and unregistered substances.
A hearing has been scheduled for May 7.
