SURGE IN MEASLES CASES A REMINDER TO CHECK YOU’RE VACCINATED
We’re being urged to check our vaccination status for measles, amid a surge in cases of the highly infectious disease.
“Across Australia we’ve had over 100 cases already since the beginning of the year and 30 in NSW.”
Many of the cases have been linked to international travel.
People who didn’t receive two doses of the MMR vaccine are being targeted by health authorities.
“Older teens, young adults, up into the early 30s – so they are the group that we know didn’t all have two shots.”
The advice is to check with your GP, especially if you’re planning an overseas trip.
