Police have charged a woman after she allegedly assaulted a nurse on duty at Lismore Base Hospital’s emergency department last Saturday.
Officers say the 37-year-old became verbally abusive before punching the healthcare worker in the face.
The accused has been charged with a string of offences, including assaulting an authorised officer.
She will appear in Lismore Local Court in October.
