The Sunshine Coast’s Kendrick Louis made one of the biggest comebacks in Ironman history, to take out round four of the Nutri-grain series at Surfers Paradise yesterday.
Louis fought back from 17th position to beat idols Ky Hurst and Shannon Eckstein to the line.
” If I had held on to last position today I would have been nowhere, thankfully I ended up getting at the pointy end of the field.”
While there was a major upset in the women’s event, after the Gold Coast’s Courtney Hancock lost her lead when her board snapped in strong swell.
Wildcard entry Maddy Dunn took over first position and held on to claim her first Ironwoman victory.
