POLICE SEARCH FOR THIEVES AFTER STOLEN ATM IN UPPER HUNTER

An ATM has been found in a paddock in Quirindi, after a ram raid and police pursuit through the Upper Hunter overnight.

Just after midnight on Thursday, a white ute reversed into a service station on Ogilvie Street, Denman.

An ATM was taken from the shop and put into the tray of the ute before driving away.

After police attended the scene, officers spotted the vehicle on Denman Road.

It sped off and police initiated a pursuit travelling through Muswellbrook and along the New England Highway.

The chase came to holt when the ute drove into a paddock on Green Tree Close, Quirindi.

Police searched the area but couldn’t locate the vehicle.

This morning, the ATM was found on a property, and seized for forensic examination.
