WEATHER with Gavin Morris: Final whip of the tail.

The current trend of afternoon storm development is coming to an end but not before there is one final whip of the tail.

Almost all locations across the broadcast area have received at least 25mm over the past week with the high end of the scale being 100mm, which luckily hit the heavily drought stricken areas of the Upper Hunter and parts of the north-west including Tamworth. There will be a few more scattered showers and storms over the next couple of days before a more significant system moves through on Thursday into Friday as it tracks northward.

Heavier falls are expected from this system which should boost the overall totals for most of the broadcast region before the week is out. There is also some solid swell for surfers who have been experiencing a bit of wave drought themselves over the past few weeks. The first east coast low of the summer is like to form.
