A controversial coal mine extension south of Singleton has been given the green light.
The State Planning Assessment Commission knocked back the $83-million Ashton Coal plan in December, but the decision was later overruled by the Land and Environment Court.
Today, the commission approved the Camberwell mine, after Ashton agreed to a number of environmental safeguards.
