A 38-year-old man will appear before Taree Local Court today after allegedly attempting to lure a teenage girl back to his house at Taree yesterday.
At about 9.50am a 12-year-old girl was sitting outside the library on Victoria Street when a man approached her.
He began talking to the her, allegedly offering her CDs, magazines and lollies in an attempt to lure her back to his house.
A short time later the man was identified and arrested at a nearby house and taken to Taree Police Station where he was charged with procuring a child under 14 years of age.
