RECORD ENTRIES RUN THE GNW ULTRA MARATHON

Joe Ward has won this year’s Great North Walk Ultra marathon after completing the 175-kilometre, race in 23 hours and six minutes.

Nicole Burke claimed victory in the women’s 100 mile, after 26 hours and 17 minutes.

The event was such a success, organisers had to turn entrants down.
