CROWDS FLOCK TO THE INAUGURAL KOOTINGAL COUNTRY FAIR

Whether it was searching for a bargain, or taking in live entertainment, there was something for everyone at the inaugural Kootingal Country Fair.

Dozens of stalls offered all sorts of goodies and organisers were chuffed with the turnout.

“There’s about 60 stallholders so they bring people with them and lots of people are talking and it’s all communication and all that so it’s great.”

A scarecrow competition was one of the highlights of the day, fair-goers voting on their favourite with a gold coin donation.

The local sportsground will be getting a much-needed facelift with the funds raised.

“The oval will be revamped with sprinkler system and levelling, the ampitheatre will be done up for movies like the old drive-in theatre.”
