WIN OVER CARDIFF SECURES GRAND FINAL SPOT FOR NEWCASTLE CITY

Newcastle City is into the Black Diamond AFL decider, after beating arch rivals Cardiff in this afternoon’s preliminary final.

The two sides traded goals in the early stages, Macaulay O’Malley on target for City, while Jack Lennon got the Hawks on the board.

Newcastle began to edge ahead by the end of the first quarter, Patrick Gillingham with a snap from in front, grabbing one of his three goals.

In the end, the home side was way too strong, winning 10 goals 10 to Cardiff’s 5 goals 11.
