A Sydney artist has taken home Newcastle’s Kilgour Prize, thanks to this intricate self-portrait called ‘Within the Studio’.
Natasha Walsh painted the small artwork on a slab of marble, taking home the $50,000 prize.
Close to 400 artworks were submitted this year, with five Hunter artists making the final cut.
The exhibition will be on display at Newcastle Art Gallery until October 21.
