ANOTHER FATAL CRASH ON THE M1 MOTORWAY

A 72-year-old man has died, in a head-on collision on the M1 at Warnervale this morning.

Around 4.30am, emergency services were called to the southbound lanes of the M1, near the Sparks Road off ramp.

It’s believed a driver was travelling in the wrong direction on the southern exit ramp of the motorway, when a northbound sedan and a southbound utility collided.

The driver of the sedan died at the scene.

The 26-year-old male occupant of the utility was treated at the scene and taken to Gosford Hospital, where he was treated for minor injuries and underwent mandatory testing.

Both vehicles have been removed for further mechanical examination.

All southbound lanes have now re-opened.
