Close to a thousand mourners turned out to farewell miner Peter Jones at a service in Newcastle today.
The 52-year-old father was described as a loveable larrikin who’ll never be forgotten.
The experienced miner was killed at the Chain Valley Colliery last week, when a section of wall collapsed on him.
