A 40-year-old man has been left with cuts to his head and arm, after being assaulted with a baseball bat in the Hunter Valley.
Just before 9:30 last night the man answered the door of his Raymond Terrace home, only to be greeted by seven people who forced entry into the house.
A fight broke out, with the resident struck with a baseball bat.
He was taken to Newcastle’s John Hunter Hospital for further treatment, while it’s understood the group made off with a computer and a set of keys.
