The National Farmers Federation is using the upcoming Federal Budget to call for improved telecommunications in regional Australia.
President, Fiona Simson says reliable and affordable mobile phone and internet services are needed in the bush to ensure the agricultural sector can reach its full potential.
The National Farmers Federation wants to see bi-partisan support for the Telecommunications Reform Package, to guarantee high-speed broadband as a legislative right for all Australians.
It also wants the Federal government to commit a further $180-million to the Mobile Blackspot Program.
