A wombat has stepped in as a surprise referee, in a scuffle between two Kangaroos in the Hunter Valley.
The vision from the Cedar Creek Wombat Hospital, west of Cessnock, shows the cheeky wombat digging in its claws, in an attempt to split the sparring pair.
The hospital’s owners commenting on Facebook: “I do wake up to a lot of mess from the released kids parting all night, but had to laugh at the males fighting and a wombat wanting to play as well”.
