NEWCASTLE COUPLE COMPLETE LEG OF ROUND THE WORLD YACHT RACE

A Newcastle couple is celebrating after completing a leg of the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race.

Peter Hartigan and Louise Costello have just arrived in Northern Ireland, after spending the last two weeks and 3,000 nautical miles racing each other from New York City.

Despite not being a sailor, the 59-year-old businessman was the first to arrive with his team Dare To Lead, out performing Louise’s PSP Logistics team.

The Clipper Race trains non-professionals to be ocean faring sailors.
