POLICE RELEASE CCTV IN RELATION TO WALLSEND ARMED ROBBERY

Police investigating an armed robbery near Newcastle have released CCTV footage, hoping to speak to a man who may be able to help with their inquiries.

Shortly after 11pm on Tuesday July 3, a man armed with a knife, entered a service station on the corner of Newcastle Road and Douglas Street, Wallsend.

He threatened a male staff member before stealing cash and cigarettes, then fled the scene on foot.

No one was injured.

He’s described as being of Caucasian appearance, between 25-35 years-old, with blond facial hair.

In the vision, he’s shown wearing a black hoodie, black pants, grey running shoes and black gloves.
