TWO CHARGED OVER NORTH COAST POLICE PURSUITS
A 26-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman are set to face court, after allegedly leading police on two pursuits on the New South Wales North Coast.
It’s alleged the pair were travelling in a Mercedes Benz 230E in the early hours of Sunday morning, when they failed to stop for a random breath test at Banora Point near Tweed Heads.
A short pursuit commenced, before being terminated for safety reasons.
Officers later spotted the car on Sexton Hill Drive, with a second pursuit once again called off due to safety concerns.
Following inquiries a 26-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman were arrested at a Cabarita resort, with police allegedly seizing a firearm, vehicle keys, cannabis, and ammunition.
The man was charged with a string of offences including driving a motor vehicle during disqualification period.
The woman was charged with two counts of possessing a prohibited weapon without a permit.
