A Special Commission of Inquiry into the alleged cover-up of child abuse within the Catholic Church in the Hunter has heard how an investigator described fellow police as “the Catholic mafia”.
Peter Fox, whose explosive claims led to the inquiry, said a former colleague made the statement in reference to senior officers.
