A 12-year-old girl on the Mid North Coast has allegedly been approached by a man unknown to her.
The girl was walking her dog on Polwarth Drive in Coffs Harbour shortly before 8pm last night, when the man started to follow her down the street.
Police say the man repeatedly tried to initiate contact with the girl, but she managed to get away.
Police would now like to speak with a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries.
He has been described as being of Caucasian appearance with a tanned complexion, aged between 20 and 30, a fit build, short brown hair, with a beard.
He reportedly had a high-pitched and scratchy voice, and was wearing a black cap, sunglasses with yellow/orange reflective lenses, a red singlet shirt, black shorts, and black shoes with an orange sole.
