Police are urging for information, after a man was assaulted during a break-in at Woodberry, in the Hunter region overnight.
Around 4am, a man entered a home on Segenhoe Street and confronted a 25-year-old man while he slept.
The intruder assaulted the man with a piece of timber before fleeing.
Emergency services were alerted and a crime scene was established.
The occupant was treated at the scene, but didn’t require hospitalisation.
