The low is now forming off the NSW coast.

The fronts in the west will be deflected away to the south thanks to the blocking high over the SE.

The East Coast Low will take perfect form generating a new powerful swell. It will also generate strong southerly winds for the coast and showers will begin to affect the Central Coast and Newcastle regions.

So, the wintry southerly winds are here to welcome the new season while keeping temperatures down.

It will remain dry an sunny inland and across NE NSW and SE QLD.

The coastal suburbs from Terrigal to Port Macquarie with receive showers. A large and dangerous swell will develop.
