PORT MACQUARIE ROTARY CELEBRATES 70-YEARS

Members of the Rotary Club of Port Macquarie have celebrated a special milestone this week.

The club has marked its 70th birthday…over that time, it’s been responsible for many vital community assets.

The Rotary Lodge at Port Base Hospital, the amenities at the swimming pool, and the planting of more than 100 now iconic Norfolk Palms.

“Over 70-years Rotary has raised over $3-million and spent more than 224,000-hours voluntary helping the community around Port Macquarie,” said Kerry Medway.

Medway has helped pen the history of the club to commemorate the anniversary.

“This book has over 200 photographs more than 70 stories of rotarians that have done amazing things, and we wrote it so we could have it all recorded in a historical form.”

The book is titled ’70-years of service above self.’
