DEFIBRILLATORS FOR LOCAL SPORTING CLUBS

A number of local sporting clubs will soon be equipped with defibrillators, after the state government posted more than $50,000 for the Northern Tablelands, Tamworth and Barwon electorates.

The funding will see 40 defibrillators retained at sporting venues to provide life-saving first aid.

Club officials will also receive training to operate them.

The state government has committed to funding half the maintenance costs.
