Meanwhile, three cultural organisations in Tamworth will receive a share in $12,000 from the federal government to preserve historical aspects of the town.
The funds will be distributed between the Tamworth Historical Society, the Regional Film and Sound Archive and the Regional Gallery.
Member for New England, Barnaby Joyce, is thrilled local organisations are benefiting from the program.
“It’s a marvelous city, it has marvellous infrastructure, it has an incredible history and this helps us celebrate that history.”
The organisations will all use the grants to ensure future public access to their important heritage collections.
