Two people have become trapped in their vehicle after it was involved in a serious crash with another car in a Newcastle suburb.
Just before 2:30pm yesterday, a Hyundai Accent and a Nissan Navara collided on Industrial Drive in Mayfield.
As a result of the collision, the Hyundai has left the roadway and hit a power pole, trapping the 19-year-old male driver and a 26-year-old male passenger.
Emergency services were able to free the men from the car, and they were taken to John Hunter Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The male driver of the Nissan, 25, and two male passengers were uninjured.
