The body of a 54-year-old woman has been pulled from the Barrington River at Rawdon Vale near Gloucester.
Police have been told the woman was walking through the water with her kayak when she was swept under by rapids before becoming stuck under a log for a short time.
Family members attempted to assist the woman, but she died at the scene.
