NORTH WEST AUSTRALIA DAY HONOURS
Six North West residents have received some of the highest Australia Day Honours.
Uralla Fire and Rescue Captain, Rodney Hargrave has been awarded the Australian Fire Service Medal for his service, and leading role in modernising the Uralla station.
Mark Murphy from the Liverpool Range RFS, was also awarded the AFSM.
In Armidale, Roslyn Townsend received the Order of Australia Medal for her service to the community.
Murrurundi’s Brian Hunt also received an O-A-M for ongoing leadership in equestrian and agriculture-related events.
A third OAM was awarded in Inverell to Alan Mather for his service to the town’s sporting clubs for more than 50 years.
And Armidale’s Robin Jones now a Member of the Order of Australia for her work with refugee support and education.
