The Northern Rivers is on alert for feral deer.
Tweed, Lismore and Kyogle Shire Councils are asking residents to report any sightings, to prevent the species’ numbers growing out of control.
Deer have the ability to cause collisions on roads, can impact farmers and damage native ecosystems.
The awareness campaign hopes to inform local land services about whether further action is needed.
