TWO OFFICERS ALLEGEDLY ASSAULTED AT GOLD COAST PARTY

Four teenagers have been charged after two police officers were allegedly assaulted at Upper Coomera in the early hours of this morning.

Around 1:15am, police responded to a noise complaint at a private residence on Meadow Way, where they found a large group of teenagers who had been attending a party.

Two constables, a male and a female, attempted to move the group on, but it’s alleged the group became belligerent and surrounded the officers before assaulting them.

The female constable was punched in the face and grabbed around the neck, while the male constable was also punched and kicked.

The officers were treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Three 18-year-old women were charged with serious assault of police, amongst other charges.

All are due to appear at the Southport Magistrates Court on February 5.

A 17-year-old man was charged with assault police and breach of bail, due in court later today.
