A new community arts space is on the horizon for Bellingen residents.
Plans are underway to repair the old police stables in the town’s centre, and adapt the facility for community arts projects.
A State Heritage Grant of almost $33-thousand has been awarded to upgrade the early 20th century building.
“It’ll be the only place where kids, youth in high school, emerging artists, Tafe graduates will be able to show their artwork in our small gallery.”
A development application has been made to Bellingen Shire Council, with the upgrade hoping to be finished by November.
