In breaking news, a woman has died at a notorious drowning spot, south of Newcastle.
Police say the 43-year-old was rock fishing with her husband at Snapper Point when she was washed off rocks at around 5:15 this afternoon.
It’s believed she wasn’t wearing a lifejacket at the time.
The tragedy is the second drowning in the area this week.
