HUNTER WATER STORAGE AT CAPACITY NOT SEEN IN YEARS

Water storage in the Hunter is now at its highest level in almost four years.

Total water storage across the region is at around 94 per cent, which is a 41 per cent rise to this time last year.

Chichester Dam is at 100 per cent capacity, Grahamstown Dam is at 96.9 per cent capacity, Tomago Sandbeds is at 89 per cent, and Anna Bay Sandbeds is at 68.8 per cent.

The organisation has praised the water-saving efforts of residents and local businesses.

In December last year, more than 740 litres of water was saved from the community’s expected water use.

Hunter Water is encouraging people to continue to comply with water restrictions.
