A man has been charged after he allegedly attempted to detain a woman in a Newcastle suburb.
Police say the 23-year-old attended a home on Sunset Boulevard in North Lambton at around 11:30am yesterday, and attempted to speak to one of the residents.
It will be alleged the man grabbed the 20-year-old woman but she managed to escape and notify police.
Police arrested the man, who is a Chinese National, just before 4:30pm and he was charged with assault with the intention of sexual assault, and detain with intent to obtain advantage.
