A woman has died in a two-car collision near Lake Macquarie.
The incident happened just after 2am this morning, when the Hyundai Getz the woman was driving collided with a Holden Commodoreon the Pacific Highway at Cams Wharf.
Police believe the Hyundai was being driven north on the wrong side of the road at the time.
The woman, aged 38, died at the scene
The 49-year-old male driver of the Holden was taken to John Hunter Hospital with serious injuries.
Anyone witnesses are being urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
