A public forum into the standard of local health care was held in Lismore today, as part of a state government inquiry aimed at improving its management and delivery.
The inquiry was re-opened and expanded to include mental health treatment following leaked footage of patient Miriam Merten, who died at Lismore Base Hospital in 20-14.
“The parliamentary accounts committee has come to Lismore to hear first hand from people about their experiences with the local area health district or the health services more generally right across the state”
The committee will meet with members of the Local Health District tomorrow.
