OVER HALF A MILLION BEING SPENT ON NEW ENGLAND HIGHWAY
One of the region’s busiest roads is set to become a lot safer, with the New England Highway to undergo resurfacing.
The state government is spending $650,000 to upgrade a one kilometre section in Tamworth, between the Caltex depot and Bourkes Bridge.
Work will start next Monday, and is expected to be complete within six weeks.
10 minute delays are expected between the hours of 7am and 6pm weekdays, and 8am to 1pm on Saturdays.
